Glen Eldridge Architects Ltd are fully committed to exploiting contemporary architecture where it is, in our view, necessary and relevant. It is also our belief that modern solutions need not be the expensive option. Our main predisposition is with blending the contemporary suitably within its surroundings. This contemporary approach can be adopted on a very small scale or throughout the building.

When the use of a traditional approach is required we identify the need for an understanding of both the intricacies of the architectural style of the time and the nature of its craftsmanship. This enables a satisfactory traditional form to be created. Our previous experience of conventional design approaches allows us to build a well designed object tailored to the client’s needs.

To allow the new and existing to co-exist sympathetically, it is sometimes necessary to accept the existing architectural typology to be adopted in the new. Although in many cases it is our understanding that a contemporary design can be made equally suitable.

Due to this outlook we have been commissioned in many sensitive and potentially controversial sites to provide a fitting built form.
